Seen a snake crawling around your house or garden? Nothing gives people the creeps like snakes, even the non-aggressive garter snake. The majority of snakes you’ll encounter are not dangerous, but there are some species that can be poisonous. Sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry – simply keep snakes off your property.

If you have snakes in your yard or garden, the best way to get rid of them is to remove their food source. Open garbage cans or pet food in your yard will attract mice and rats. When you have rodents, you attract snakes.

Snakes also have a sensitive sense of smell. They can’t withstand harsh or repulsive odors. So, a good way to keep snakes away is with snake repellent. Snake repellent is a strong smelling spray that will prevent snakes from staying in your garden. Of course, you have to reapply the repellent every four weeks to continue its effectiveness.

If you have snakes inside your home, you should contact a professional. Not only do you need to get rid of the snake, you also need to find the entry point for the snakes. With proper help, you don’t have to worry about snakes coming into your home or your garden.
